PENGARUH VARIASI DERAJAT DURASI CAMSHAFT TERHADAP UNJUK KERJA MESIN BENSIN EMPAT LANGKAH SATU SILINDER HONDA SUPRA 100 CC
In Indonesia, the prime mover of vehicle uses mostly reciprocating engine. The generated power of the engine is still considered to have a pretty good performance, but the innovations in term of performance are still need to be improved by mean of varying camshaft duration .
This research aims to investigate the influence of camshaft duration to the engine torque, power and specific fuel consumption effective (SFCe) in a single cylinder four stroke gasoline engine (Honda Supra 100 cc). In addition the camshaft duration is varied of 210˚, 280˚, 330˚ and the engine speed of 1500, 2500, 3500, 4500, and 6000 rpm.
The results show that the engine has better performance when the engine running on the camshaft duration of 280˚ at 6000 rpm than camshaft duration 210o and 330o ( the torque is 0,80 kgf.m and the power output is7,02 PS ), Further more the lowest SFCe is achieved when the engine is running on camshaft duration 280˚ at 6000 rpm.( 0,11 kg/jam.PS.)
